The Mortal Instruments: City of Glass

Like the second book, CITY OF GLASS picks up right where CITY OF ASHES left off. Clary who is no longer dating Simon, is getting ready to go to Idris, the home of all Shadowhunters. The story centers around the events they have all been dreading, with Valentine and the Mortal Instruments. The reader will see very little of the New York life they are use to seeing as in the first two books. However do not fret! You will not be disappointed in this at all!

There are even more twists and turns and 180's in this book more so than the last. All the questions are answered, like "Why can Simon walk in the daylight?", "Are Clary and Jace ever going to be happy?", "Does Alec come out to his parents?" and "What happens with Clary's mom?" All are answered and even more so. This keeps you on edge and constantly reading, you will find yourselves pulled back into the Shadow world where you cannot help but to read and read until there is nothing left in the pages to be read. This book is by far the best of all 3, and yet it isn't the end, there is still more to come!

The Mortal Instruments: City of Ashes

The second book of the 6 book series, CITY OF ASHES, begins where CITY OF BONES left off. Torn between her best friend (now boyfriend) Simon and her (wish he wasn't but he is) brother Jace. Clary has to fight to keep her family together from her long lost and crazy biological father.

This book has some twists in the story that are completely unexpected and new to the readers world and imagination. She and Jace learn new things about each other as well as what their father has done in his past. The reader is privileged enough to follow some of the other characters within the story, such as Alec, Simon, and Jace. Which allows the reader to see inside the minds of those that are near impossible to figure out and results in a new found or deeper love for each.

The ending of the book makes your heart drop and then leap for joy within a matter of 3 pages and leaves the reader begging for more.

Conclusion: 4 stars

The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones

The first book in the trilogy of THE MORTAL INSTRUMENTS series. It is set in modern time in New York/Brooklyn/Manhattan. The story line follows 15 year old Clary (Clarissa) Fray who is witnesses a murder, however when she confronts the attackers the body disappears before her eyes. Soon she is thrown into a world she never knew existed however someone very close to her did and did everything in their power to keep her away from it all.

The story is very very well written and played out, there is not too much information that would overload the casual reader and on the other hand does not bore the avid reader. There is plenty of action and war for the romance haters, but also romance for those who loves sex books. This book is widely attractive to any reader and captures and takes them on a ride not soon forgotten or pushed out of the memory.

Cassandra Clare has a talent not so often bestowed that can capture the attention and keep almost every age of reader.

Conclusion: 4 1/2 stars

BOOKS BOOOKS BOOKS BOOKS!!!!!

I cannot get enough of BOOKS!!! They are my life and my ME time and my escape from the real world and all it's troubles and BAH!!! I just can't say enough how much I love BOOKS!!! My favorites are the series, because I like something I can anticipate for and debate with my friends what I think's gonna happen! I love how the story develops and goes on to explain what's happening with everyone involved. I love how intense and worked up I get over the characters and how I cry when they're sad and how I can feel when something juicy is gonna come (at that part I usually break and grab some juice;). I love how the story traps me and I can't pull away from it, the book holds me hostage and I LOVE IT!!!

But at the same time I hate it too cause when I'm reading at work and I get a call at an intense part UGH!!! That's the worst! I just wanna get on the phone and tell the person "Figure it out for yourself you rudely interrupted my and me time!" But that of course would be rude and I can't do that, I'd get in BIG BIG trouble.

I just finished re-reading a series that I got last year for my birthday, I didn't have a new book to read and I can't go for long periods of time without reading. I know it's weird I need to go to some kind of readers anonymous or something. The series is call THE MORTAL INSTRUMENTS. Currently it's a series of 3 books but a 4th is coming out next March in another person's point of view. The titles are CITY OF BONES (1st), CITY OF ASHES (2nd), CITY OF GLASS (3rd), the 4th will be called CITY OF FALLEN ANGELS. Here are the covers:

Her (Cassandra Clare) next series which is suppose to be pretty much the same species (Shadowhunters, Warlocks, Faeries, Werewolves, and Vampires) but in the "Downworlders" perspective, which is the Warlocks, Faeries, Werewolves, and Vampires. This book is due out SEPTEMBER 7TH OF THIS YEAR!!!!

I'M SO EXCITED SHE'S A FANTASTIC AUTHOR!!! I can re-read her books over and over again without getting annoyed with the main characters like I do in the Twilight series! Yes, I did just say that and I'm not taking it back! I do like Twilight, but I hate it at the same time too, Bella UGH!!! Edward UGH and EWW!! and Jacob...my hero!!! Anyways this is a whole other blog in itself right now we're talking about THE MORTAL INSTRUMENTS!!!! I LOVE IT!!!!! Wouldn't have had it any other way!!!

Exercise and healthier lifestyle..bleh and YAY!!!!

I know! I know! We all hate it but if we don't do it, we'll become the living proof of American's reputation of being obese...my mom has always had trouble with her weight, likewise with Nana (my Grandma on my mom's side). I DO NOT want to end up like them. My dad's side is almost perfectly healthy! My Grandma Fuji (like the mountain) was active working in her vegetable and flower garden when she was 82 years old! If she didn't die of open heart surgery that year my bet is she would have lived ALOT ALOT longer. She is the ideal woman, she made the legendary Grandma's cookies that no one can top, she gave the best Halloween candy out (I need to put a picture of her on here...but I don't have one..sad), she had the best after Church Sunday dinners. She was Buddhist but came to my baptism, and she was very very young for her age. If she didn't have anything to do she was find something to do.

SO the point of that story is to become like my Grandma...except not as small as she was, she was like 4'9 or something. BUT alas! I need to get started on making myself healthy and productive! My first thing has already begun! Nate and I clean the house every Saturday by cleaning specific parts of the house. This week I had the windows, bathrooms, and laundry. I'm proud to say that EVERYTHING is done except laundry..that takes a while :P.

My next thing would be to get into better shape. I plan on doing that by going to the rec center in SOJO and going to either the Zumba class, or Hip Hop or Kickboxing...I've done kickboxing and hip hop before but not Zumba. From what I've seen I think I'll like it! These 2 years that I've been married has been hard on my exercising energy, I use to be so awake in school and active that I could eat whatever I wanted and gained nothing! But now I have to watch what I eat...crap!! because since the only activity I did was walking my dogs and that's gone now...NATE!!! I'm gaining weight faster than I want to and it's a slap in the face that I never thought I'd have. BUT I'm glad for this wake up call, because I can bring my life back into perspective.

After getting back to where I want to be with exercising, I will be happier! I'll be healthier! I'll be back into a classroom that is the best kind of classroom there is (no desks)!. The next thing on my becoming happier to do list would be to Know God again. I use to know him and Christ, but then I graduated high school, my closest friends went on missions and I went down the other way. But I'm slowly coming back, to tell ya the truth it's hard to without the support at home. Everything that is suppose to work out (me) will workout (ME YAY). All I need is faith, motivation and...[something else that's meaningful enter here]. :)
