The Lost Hero

THE LOST HERO...I just realized makes no sense unless you read PERCY JACKSON AND THE OLYMPIANS. I have read the books in their chronological order, but would rather not review them out of order. Ssssoooooooo I'll be re-reading PERCY JACKSON and reviewing them.

But not so soon. I plan to re-read HOUSE OF NIGHT. It's a vampire book but nothing like the Twilight saga (yes I have and will review them...I'm not looking forward to it). This series is rated R, but don't worry! I'm taking a pen, and scratching out all the cursing :) YAY ME!!!!

and Sayonara! (I forgot to say it in my last post)

The Infernal Devices: The Clockwork Angel

Hello! I know it's been forever but fear not! I have two books to review today. The first is a prequel to the amazing MORTAL INSTRUMENTS series. The series is called THE INFERNAL DEVICES and the book CLOCKWORK ANGEL.

CLOCKWORK ANGEL is in the 1800's Victorian era in London. Tess (short for Theresa) is a 16 year old American coming to London to meet her brother, Nathanial to live with as their Aunt died. She meets two sisters who claim her brother sent them to retrieve her and the story continues from there with her meeting Shadowhunters and being introduced into the Shadow world.

Do not expect everything to be similar to the MORTAL INSTRUMENTS. If you do, you will be disappointed and be waiting for things that do not happen. This book can stand on it's own and does NOT need to be read after the MORTAL INSTRUMENTS. Is it helpful, yes, but not mandatory. The book has a different edge to it and centers around machines called automatons that are not included in the first series. This story does not pull you right into it...but you can't walk away. You develop a love for the characters as you do for Mr. Darcy and Elizabeth Bennett.

Cassandra Clare certainly does not let the reader down in this first installation of the new series. If fact quite the opposite, she will leave them begging for more.

The Mortal Instruments: City of Glass

Like the second book, CITY OF GLASS picks up right where CITY OF ASHES left off. Clary who is no longer dating Simon, is getting ready to go to Idris, the home of all Shadowhunters. The story centers around the events they have all been dreading, with Valentine and the Mortal Instruments. The reader will see very little of the New York life they are use to seeing as in the first two books. However do not fret! You will not be disappointed in this at all!

There are even more twists and turns and 180's in this book more so than the last. All the questions are answered, like "Why can Simon walk in the daylight?", "Are Clary and Jace ever going to be happy?", "Does Alec come out to his parents?" and "What happens with Clary's mom?" All are answered and even more so. This keeps you on edge and constantly reading, you will find yourselves pulled back into the Shadow world where you cannot help but to read and read until there is nothing left in the pages to be read. This book is by far the best of all 3, and yet it isn't the end, there is still more to come!

The Mortal Instruments: City of Ashes

The second book of the 6 book series, CITY OF ASHES, begins where CITY OF BONES left off. Torn between her best friend (now boyfriend) Simon and her (wish he wasn't but he is) brother Jace. Clary has to fight to keep her family together from her long lost and crazy biological father.

This book has some twists in the story that are completely unexpected and new to the readers world and imagination. She and Jace learn new things about each other as well as what their father has done in his past. The reader is privileged enough to follow some of the other characters within the story, such as Alec, Simon, and Jace. Which allows the reader to see inside the minds of those that are near impossible to figure out and results in a new found or deeper love for each.

The ending of the book makes your heart drop and then leap for joy within a matter of 3 pages and leaves the reader begging for more.

Conclusion: 4 stars

The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones

The first book in the trilogy of THE MORTAL INSTRUMENTS series. It is set in modern time in New York/Brooklyn/Manhattan. The story line follows 15 year old Clary (Clarissa) Fray who is witnesses a murder, however when she confronts the attackers the body disappears before her eyes. Soon she is thrown into a world she never knew existed however someone very close to her did and did everything in their power to keep her away from it all.

The story is very very well written and played out, there is not too much information that would overload the casual reader and on the other hand does not bore the avid reader. There is plenty of action and war for the romance haters, but also romance for those who loves sex books. This book is widely attractive to any reader and captures and takes them on a ride not soon forgotten or pushed out of the memory.

Cassandra Clare has a talent not so often bestowed that can capture the attention and keep almost every age of reader.

Conclusion: 4 1/2 stars

BOOKS BOOOKS BOOKS BOOKS!!!!!

I cannot get enough of BOOKS!!! They are my life and my ME time and my escape from the real world and all it's troubles and BAH!!! I just can't say enough how much I love BOOKS!!! My favorites are the series, because I like something I can anticipate for and debate with my friends what I think's gonna happen! I love how the story develops and goes on to explain what's happening with everyone involved. I love how intense and worked up I get over the characters and how I cry when they're sad and how I can feel when something juicy is gonna come (at that part I usually break and grab some juice;). I love how the story traps me and I can't pull away from it, the book holds me hostage and I LOVE IT!!!

But at the same time I hate it too cause when I'm reading at work and I get a call at an intense part UGH!!! That's the worst! I just wanna get on the phone and tell the person "Figure it out for yourself you rudely interrupted my and me time!" But that of course would be rude and I can't do that, I'd get in BIG BIG trouble.

I just finished re-reading a series that I got last year for my birthday, I didn't have a new book to read and I can't go for long periods of time without reading. I know it's weird I need to go to some kind of readers anonymous or something. The series is call THE MORTAL INSTRUMENTS. Currently it's a series of 3 books but a 4th is coming out next March in another person's point of view. The titles are CITY OF BONES (1st), CITY OF ASHES (2nd), CITY OF GLASS (3rd), the 4th will be called CITY OF FALLEN ANGELS. Here are the covers:

Her (Cassandra Clare) next series which is suppose to be pretty much the same species (Shadowhunters, Warlocks, Faeries, Werewolves, and Vampires) but in the "Downworlders" perspective, which is the Warlocks, Faeries, Werewolves, and Vampires. This book is due out SEPTEMBER 7TH OF THIS YEAR!!!!

I'M SO EXCITED SHE'S A FANTASTIC AUTHOR!!! I can re-read her books over and over again without getting annoyed with the main characters like I do in the Twilight series! Yes, I did just say that and I'm not taking it back! I do like Twilight, but I hate it at the same time too, Bella UGH!!! Edward UGH and EWW!! and Jacob...my hero!!! Anyways this is a whole other blog in itself right now we're talking about THE MORTAL INSTRUMENTS!!!! I LOVE IT!!!!! Wouldn't have had it any other way!!!

Exercise and healthier lifestyle..bleh and YAY!!!!

I know! I know! We all hate it but if we don't do it, we'll become the living proof of American's reputation of being obese...my mom has always had trouble with her weight, likewise with Nana (my Grandma on my mom's side). I DO NOT want to end up like them. My dad's side is almost perfectly healthy! My Grandma Fuji (like the mountain) was active working in her vegetable and flower garden when she was 82 years old! If she didn't die of open heart surgery that year my bet is she would have lived ALOT ALOT longer. She is the ideal woman, she made the legendary Grandma's cookies that no one can top, she gave the best Halloween candy out (I need to put a picture of her on here...but I don't have one..sad), she had the best after Church Sunday dinners. She was Buddhist but came to my baptism, and she was very very young for her age. If she didn't have anything to do she was find something to do.

SO the point of that story is to become like my Grandma...except not as small as she was, she was like 4'9 or something. BUT alas! I need to get started on making myself healthy and productive! My first thing has already begun! Nate and I clean the house every Saturday by cleaning specific parts of the house. This week I had the windows, bathrooms, and laundry. I'm proud to say that EVERYTHING is done except laundry..that takes a while :P.

My next thing would be to get into better shape. I plan on doing that by going to the rec center in SOJO and going to either the Zumba class, or Hip Hop or Kickboxing...I've done kickboxing and hip hop before but not Zumba. From what I've seen I think I'll like it! These 2 years that I've been married has been hard on my exercising energy, I use to be so awake in school and active that I could eat whatever I wanted and gained nothing! But now I have to watch what I eat...crap!! because since the only activity I did was walking my dogs and that's gone now...NATE!!! I'm gaining weight faster than I want to and it's a slap in the face that I never thought I'd have. BUT I'm glad for this wake up call, because I can bring my life back into perspective.

After getting back to where I want to be with exercising, I will be happier! I'll be healthier! I'll be back into a classroom that is the best kind of classroom there is (no desks)!. The next thing on my becoming happier to do list would be to Know God again. I use to know him and Christ, but then I graduated high school, my closest friends went on missions and I went down the other way. But I'm slowly coming back, to tell ya the truth it's hard to without the support at home. Everything that is suppose to work out (me) will workout (ME YAY). All I need is faith, motivation and...[something else that's meaningful enter here]. :)

Damon

Ahhh the lovely Damon Salvator!!!!

I must say he is by far my favorite vampire. Not just because he's such good eye candy but because his personality on the show. He's on edge alot and doesn't let the pathetic ties that hold Stefan and Edward down, sure he's got his digs but he doesn't become all burdened and let his emotions run him and then become a total mess that other people have to clean up! He is the one in charge of himself, he does what he needs to do to get the job done whatever it is.

What I like most about him is that he can think for himself and doesn't need people to spell things out for him. He's able to get along just fine in the world by the research and thinking on his own and doesn't rely on the information of others to get him by. He is a very strong personality that is basically unbreakable, yet he has a soft side that can benefit at times as well.

Ok all done, to recap, Damon bueno! Stefan and Edward no bueno, they're stupid and irritating!

Doggies at the window/door

Isn't it cute!!!.....happy thoughts happy thoughts!!! Nate and I are looking for a new home for these lovely loving playful friends/family of ours. We just got in touch with someone I use to work with and need to see where it goes from here. Hopefully it'll all happen as we want it to, they go to a SAFE, HAPPY home with a yard and kids to play with. But it'll happen as it's suppose to happen...I just hope that what we want and what happens coincide with each other.

Nate and Books!!!

HOLY CRAP!!! I didn't think I would say those two words together ever!!! You wouldn't believe it but Nate COMPLETELY READ AND ENTIRE BOOKS SERIES!!!! WAHHHHHOOOOOOOOoo!!!!! He read the infamous Fablehaven series and he loved it! I felt like giving him a hug like this >! lol

Anyways he read them all rather quickly once he got past the first one, it was hard to get him to read the second one cause the first one was like the first harry potter in just mainly introducing the characters and setting a....storyline for the books to follow.

I was deeply impressed with the series by far one of my favorites!!! YES even more so than the Twilight series! UGH!! those books are getting on my nerves! Anyways, very very good series. The author also mentioned that he was writing a new series that sounded really good and Nate even wanted to get those too!!! HOLY WOW!!!! HE'S ON A ROLL!!!!

Currently I have no book to read...what am I to do with myself?!

MY BUTT!!!!

this morning before work I'm on my way to take Sadie my bigger dog but she's younger outside for her morning walk. On my way down the stairs she decides she wants to go in front and takes my legs with me, I fall down a few stairs before my butt finally lands and stays on one! UGH THAT DOG!!!! I stayed there for a little bit cause I didn't know what to do and my butt was sore! Nate came down cause he heard my yelling at Sadie and he was a very lovely husband and said that he would take her out for a walk:)

After my butt gets better and after work we buy roller blades for something fun to do in the summertime. I haven't been on roller blades for 10+ years! But of course that muscle memory thing comes in handy sometimes so I figured I'll be fine, I've been on ice skates in a not very long ago time so I'll be fine, they're basically the same thing! OH NO MY FRIEND!!! the road hurts when you fall on it! MY BUTT!!!! We go skating out of our neighborhood and near another one, on our way there's a gradual hill, I end up in front and Nate behind me on the hill. I'm just coasting along and loving the breeze of the.....815ish night air when I'm too chicken to pull up my right leg and slow down. CRAP!!! I can't do that what other way is there?! I could go in the grass but there's trees every few feet and I might catch something and fall! I could grab onto the trees but they're tiny little things I might take one of them out with me! I could grab onto that light post coming up but I might miss bracing my head reflex and my head would run right into the light post! SNAP! The turns here!

I take the turn, make it off the sidewalk ok and slide right off my blades and land on my BUTT!!! AGAIN!!!! Twice in the same day!!! I also really hurt my right wrist and elbow and left elbow and wrist but the left side didn't require bandaids just the right :). Nate comes running to my rescue as I roll over and start laughing! Just as I roll over and he helps me up two cars drive by and *thankfully* don't stop to make sure the bonehead's ok!

My poor bottom's been through alot today! THANK THE LORD FOR ALL THAT FAT BEFORE THE BONE!!!!! Otherwise I've have a broken butt....twice!

Lost/Mr Darcy

My phone is dying and I don't wanna go downstairs and get the charger :P. Also i'm having a rough time trying to get into the flow of this blog thing. To me is seems like it's an online journal that everyone can read, but of course I'm sure it's different. I certainly hope so anyways cause I've always been really bad at keeping a journal, except in middle school when I just talked about boys.

I have an undying love for Mr Darcy from Pride and Prejudice, and last night I had a dream that I went horseback riding with him, it was so weird! But fun cause ya know in those times women didn't ride horses and I impressed him very much when I was able to keep up with him at a fast pace :) When I told this story to Nate he of course laughed at me because he knows of my affection to Mr Darcy and said that he's never been on a horse before. I said in reply that we should find a place that has horses that will let us ride them. He jumped on the phone with his friend Hayley and said that she does have horses and we are welcome to come riding sometimes during the week! YAY!!!! I haven't been on a horse in....I think about 8 years! But compared to Nate's 25 years of never being on a horse, I think I might have the advantage ;).

I won't have pictures up on here for a while :(, when I grabbed my laptop, Nate said "Good luck with that", I replied "Why? What's wrong with it?" and he said "Your cord is broken and your battery's dead." Therefore I can't charge my battery and I can't get onto it to get pictures on this thing! Stupid cord! Sooooooooooooo you'll just have to suffer with these pictures of my doggies!

Great! They've been deleted! Nevermind! I'm going to go watch Friends or something til my shows are on :)

Boredom

Are there more than one way of spelling boredom? Hmmm I don't think so cause the thing just corrected me :). I just edited my profile and it came up with a bunch of stuff about me and Nate so I figured I'd let the person who's most likely bored out of their mind who is reading this (if you weren't bored you wouldn't be reading an armature's blog...trust me) know that I'm somewhat figuring this stuff out.

I should go back to work....let me see if there is any for me to do....ALL DONE!!! Just had to move some emails around :).

So we've been pretty slow at work and alot of us have been bringing books to read, I tried to bring and read Eclipse (from the Twilight series) and I only got through the first few pages! IT BUGS ME SO MUCH NOW!!!! I don't know what it is, maybe it's since the movies came out or something but I'm on a love/hate relationship with them now. I hate that I love them so much, but the weird thing is that I can't bring myself to read them because it bugs me so much! :@ that would be an angry face. Tomorrow I'll have my friend Jessica's book I left in Vegas to read, which is good cause then I'll have something to do YAY!!!!

Sayonara!

Brand new!!!

Hi everybody! I just created this blog and I don't know what to do!!! AHHH!!! I think I'm gonna wait til I get home to finish it at home, I have all my pictures there and have more free time to play around with it lol :).
